Jessica Lowndes is an accomplished and multi-talented performer across a range of mediums. The Vancouver-born singer and actress moved to Los Angeles at sixteen and has since taken the entertainment industry by storm. From landing lead roles on shows like 90210 and appearing in several Hallmark movies to releasing more than 20 original songs. Everything she puts her name to is a blaring success.
Lowndes took time out of her busy schedule to catch up with Daily Hive to talk about her new movie, Harmony from the Heart, for which she wrote the screenplay, executive produced, and starred in a lead role. She was excited to share that she recently signed a four-picture deal to star in, write, direct, and executive produce original films for GAC Family.
We also talked about her visual album, ELEMENTAL, releasing over the course of the year. Each single is accompanied by a music video directed by Lowndes and when combined at the end will be a short film, releasing September 16.

Jessica Lowndes embarked on a big project to kick star her year. The 90210 actress began releasing a collection of songs/videos from her visual album Elemental in May. Together, all videos create a short film, which is her directorial debut (and which she also stars in). She will be rolling out videos over the next few months and the visual album will be released in its entirety in September.
Elemental sets out to showcase the journey we all go on: from being in love, to having your heart broken to finding new love again, and all the ups and downs along the way. It’s conveyed using natural disasters and elements as metaphors, the inner turmoil and inner joy that comes from heartache and finding new love. Lowndes has self-released over 20 original songs and her single, Silicone in Stereo, reached #11 on the Billboard Charts in both the U.S. and Canada. Her duet “Alive,” which she performed with her co-star and Broadway sensation Jeremy Jordan for the film Mix Up in the Mediterranean cracked the top 15 on iTunes last year. She also co-wrote/performed the hit song “Paradise” from her film “Over the Moon in Love” which hit #1 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts. Here, she shares the impetus for her album, and why heartbreak — while painful — really does allow for creating beautiful art.

New photos of Jessica from appearances and interviews earlier this month have been added to the gallery. Enjoy the new additions and look for more updates coming soon.
Adrianna Tate-Duncan, her famed character on 90210, was a hardcore drug addict, and it’s a testament to her acting ability that someone as fresh-faced and untroubled as Jessica Lowndes could make her so believable. The talented Canadian actress and singer, who originally appeared as a guest on the show but was made a permanent member of the cast by popular demand, hails from Vancouver, British Columbia. A born entertainer who started performing at a young age, Lowndes has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies, including the 2014 action flick The Prince with Bruce Willis and John Cusack.
Lowndes, a naturally gorgeous brunette with 750,000 Instagram followers (@jessicalowndes), has also written several hit songs, and is now putting her fame to good use, launching a charitable clothing initiative that she discusses here in detail for the first time. And it’s only a matter of time before Lowndes lands a really big role worthy of her talents and truly becomes a household name, but we think she’ll always be the down to earth girl from Canada who almost seems too innocent for Hollywood.
How did you get to be comfortable in front of a camera and on stage at such a young age? Where does your confidence come from?
My dad always says “whatever you can conceive and you truly believe you will achieve”. My parents have never held me back from anything and I’m extremely grateful to have such an awesome support system. I was a very expressive, outgoing kid. Singing to strangers in Speedos (yes, there’s an embarrassing home video) and always living in my own dream world of make believe— from building forts and talking to myself to flipping my imaginary fins like Ariel from The Little Mermaid, making up my own songs and dressing my Barbies up to go to the Oscars… I always had to be doing something creative and my Dad was always there with his video camera to document every second of it.
